Our client is looking to recruit a manager ideally with a building services / engineering background and proven technical ability to advise and manage the team on a day to day basis. Our client would consider applications from an experienced project engineer or property management energy-engineer.This role will report to the team Director. You will be responsible for the company`s energy management activity (gas, electricity, water and carbon) and will work closely with the Energy Performance Certification supervisor to support delivery of contractual certification services including accredited EPC and DEC certificates to clients. You will be working with clients who are generally property managing agents, property owners, building and facilities managers. ResponsibilitiesManage the resourcing and successful completion of the company`s energy management contracts for clients.Provide technical management of all aspects of carbon and energy management work including carbon strategy advice, portfolio energy benchmarking, energy reporting and profiling, and automatic meter reading.Carry out and manage energy surveys and support the implementation of recommended measures for clients.Assess the metering services required and manage others to carry out, metering services on buildings.Manage the automatic meter reading project, using external contractors and ensuring they deliver a speedy, consistent and accurate service on behalf of the company to our clients. Liaise with tenant on-charging manager to assist in the management of 135 tenant on-charging jobs to ensure the effective electricity, gas and water bill charges to the buildings are charged on to their clients. Responsibilities:Assist with day to day management to ensure meter readers deliver the data required for monthly monitoring purposes. Liaise with internal Key Account Managers on team services and products they can sell to clients. Attend client meetings to give technical updates and provide information. Advise corporate clients on carbon policy and energy management. Work with the director to recruit, induct, appraise and manage staff. Develop a good understanding of our client’s products and services in order to communicate other services to existing clients.Provide technical support and input expertise amongst the team. Be the first point of contact for technical engineering, electrical and gas infrastructure queries.Take responsibility for keeping yourself and others up to date with technological changes in the market, for example smart metering, and generate ways to implement these advances in client sites, either personally or via other service providers. Skills and Abilities:Project management and organisational skills. This role requires a large amount of organisation and managing others to get technical jobs completed on time and within contractual terms.Technical experience and a track record of working on site. You will have a foundation knowledge and understanding of buildings, buildings services engineering technical principles and their practical / commercial application. Experience of energy management at site and estate (portfolio) level.Experience of energy surveying and energy improvement project implementation.Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. You will be able to build effective relationships and communicate clearly with clients in writing, on site and on the telephone building effective working relationships.Client focussed. This role involves attending client meetings, liaising with clients on technical issues and providing technical solutions to their problems.IT and numeracy skills. Competent and familiar with all Microsoft office products particularly Excel. You must be able and experienced in creating and inputting into Excel spreadsheets and able to guide and over the work of the EPC members of the team. Experience:Project and people management experience. You will be used to building relationships with clients and team members. You will have experience of supervising a team on a day to day level, setting objectives, managing their performance and conducting appraisals.Building services background and on-site experience highly desirable. Experienced with the use of gas and electricity meters.Membership of CIBSE or low carbon consultant status or ability to easily apply for such membership/status is desirable.
